TExES 160

PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities)

Required pedagogy exam for all Texas teacher certifications, EC–12.

For: Every Texas teacher candidate; required regardless of content area.
Duration: ~5 hours
Format: Computer-administered, multiple-choice with scenario-based questions.

The PPR (TExES 160) covers four pedagogy and professionalism domains:

  • Designing instruction and assessment to promote student learning
  • Creating a positive, productive classroom environment
  • Implementing responsive, effective instruction and assessment
  • Fulfilling professional roles and responsibilities

The exam is heavy on scenarios — case studies where you must apply pedagogical reasoning. Memorizing definitions isn’t enough; our study guide drills the application patterns.
